ウェールズ西部の小都市アバエロン出身。地域に自転車クラブがなかったため、両親が2012年に「ウェスト・ウェールズ・サイクル・レーシング・チーム」を立ち上げ、息子たちに走る場所を作った。10歳からほぼフルタイムで競技に打ち込み、2022年に18歳でジュニア世界選手権タイムトライアルを制覇。2023年にはU23を飛ばしてINEOSグレナディアーズへ移籍し、欧州選手権エリートTTでも優勝を果たした。

Joshua Michael Tarling (born 15 February 2004) is a Welsh track and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Netcompany INEOS. He is the 2025 World champion in the points race. A World Junior champion in the time trial, he won the elite time trial at the 2023 European Road Cycling Championships at the age of 19.
