この選手を知る — 兄の背中を追って、同じ夜に国内王者

北アイルランドのダンガノン出身で、2005年生まれ。7歳のとき、数か月先にレースを始めた兄のダレン・ラファーティーを見て、サッカーから自転車に移った。2023年、地元ダンガノンで開かれたアイルランドの全国選手権では、17歳でジュニアの個人タイムトライアルを制し、同じ夜に兄もU23のタイトルを守って、兄弟そろって勝った。会場には祖父母も来ていた。得意はタイムトライアルで、2024年の世界選手権ではU23の個人タイムトライアルでトップ10に入った。2025年、ジロ・ネクストジェン第5ステージで初めて国際レースに勝ち、「人生でいちばん幸せな日だと思う」と語った。
