ベルギー・アルデンヌ地方の小村レシュレに生まれた酪農家の息子で、あだ名は「レシュレの牡牛」だ。プロデビューの2022年は練習後に父の農場で週35時間の農作業をこなしながらシーズン9勝という驚異の成績を収め、チームはやがて体のためにその作業量を制限するよう求めた。酪農の現場で培われた強靭な身体と粘り強さが、彼のスプリントと一日レースでの爆発力を支えている。
