この選手を知る — 35勝目は、引退を撤回した年に

マン島出身。傾斜した周回路を走るトラック競技の、2人1組の種目マディソンで世界王者になり、2008年にツール・ド・フランスで初めてステージを勝った。2017年にウイルス感染症、翌年うつ病を患い、2018年2月を最後に3年あまり勝てなかった。2020年秋には「たぶん、これがキャリア最後のレースだ」と声を詰まらせた。翌2021年、チームの負傷したスプリンターの代役でツールに出て4勝し、ツールのステージ勝利数でエディ・メルクスの最多記録34に並んだ。2023年に引退を表明し、同年のツールは落車で棄権した。撤回して走った2024年、ツールの第5ステージで35勝目を挙げ、ついにメルクスの記録を抜いた。
